The Murdock’s Story

In 1995, when Ryan Shelton was just 6 years old, his father, Ron Shelton, opened up a large catfish buffet on the west side of Jonesboro, Arkansas. The buffet-style restaurant was called ‘Ron’s Catfish Buffet”. Although business didn’t flock to Ron’s immediately due to its “off the beaten path” location, within a couple of years Ron’s was well on its way to becoming the destination catfish buffet it is today.

Ryan worked at the buffet from the time he was a young boy until he graduated from college in 2011. In 2014, the father and son duo decided it was time to create a new way to serve their famous catfish and open up a restaurant with a totally different concept than Ron’s.  Murdock’s Catfish was born and opened in Jonesboro on April 14, 2014...
